Character Classes Classe10

i have been reserching character classes in HACK, all the types of classes that are available and provideing information on certain classes. these are all the character classes that i have found out that were present in hack. hopfully this information can be used into provideing people wit more information into their character creation Laughing

character classes
A Class, sometimes called a Job, is a specialization chosen by players when they create their Player Characters. Each class has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The World Classes

In the original version of The World, there were six classes.

* Blademaster
* Heavy Axeman
* Heavy Blade
* Long Arm
* Twin Blade
* Wavemaster

Blademasters- are among the strongest classes in The World. They use one medium-sized one-handed blade in battle. Blademasters rank third in terms of attack growth and rank first in terms of physical defense growth. Although their growth is slower than that of Heavy Axemen and Heavy Blades, the fact that they can reach a stat of 99 in all physical categories coupled with their relatively fast attack speed and area skills makes them the highest thier physical class. Blademasters are fairly average in their skills. Their attacks skills are fairly powerful, and have multiple hits. They have a fairly diverse range of attack elements as well, utilizing Darkness, Earth, Fire, and Water elements in their skills.
  • Blademaster was the official class of the Crimson Knights.

  • Although Tokyopop translated the Blademaster class as the "Blade User" class, Blademaster is considered to be a correct translation of the original Japanese name.

Heavy Axemen- are a class in The World. They specialize in the use of axes, and are the physically strongest of all the classes. Heavy Axemen boast the best physical attack and HP growth bar none. Their physical accuracy is also greater than that of Blademasters. This unfortunately comes with the tradeoff of a much slower walking speed and attack speed. Due to their overwhelming HP advantage as well as their decent physical and magical defenses, Heavy Axemen are the tanks of The World, best left right in front of a strong opponent and trading blows. They unfortunately don't do so well against faster enemies and magic-casting enemies unless they get the first strike in. The skills of Heavy Axeman focus mostly on power. They are geared towards targeting multiple enemies and dealing large amounts of damage. In return their attacks only hit a few times, and are fairly inaccurate. They have access to the elements of darkness, earth, thunder, and water.

Heavy Blades- are one of the strongest classes in The World. They are notable for their use of huge, double-handed swords and katanas Heavy Blades are among the three strongest classes due to their ability to equip the heaviest, highest level armors. In terms of physical attack growth, Heavy Blades lose only to Heavy Axemen. They generally have higher physical attack and accuracy than their one-handed counterparts, Blademasters, but they sacrifice attack speed and defense growths in the process. Heavy Blades have four different types of skills. Two are accessible when using Katana type weapons, and two can be used when wielding other types of swords. While powerful, their skills are limited by their small number of hits. Also the elemental attributes of their attacks are limited. Heavy Blades are only able to make use of the Fire, Thunder, Earth, and Wood elements in their attacks.

Long Arms- are a physically strong class in The World. They are best known for their pole arm weapons and light movement.
Long Arms are considered to be near equal to Twin Blades, differing only in that they have greater attack and defense stats as well as far superior range while sacrificing the magical capabilites and multi-hit skills of the Twin Blade. Long Arms also share the same HP and SP growths as Heavy Blades and Blademasters.
Long Arms are capable of naturally reaching a stat of 99 for Physical Attack. Long Arm skills are multi-hit, but don't hit as many times as a Twin Blade. The Double Sweep family of skills employs the Long Arm's massive range by dealing two strong hits of damage to all enemies within range of the spear.
Long arms specialize in powerful physical attacks. Most of their attacks can deal incredible amounts of damage. They make use of the Fire, Thunder, Water, and Wood elements. They make up for their high damage by having a fairly lengthy cooldown between hits, and having fairly useless area of effect attacks. Their Double Sweep line of skills, which hits all nearby enemies only has a small range.

Twin Blade- is a class in The World and The World R:2 which wields dual blades. It is the only class "carried over" between revisions. Twin Blades are the most balanced class in The World. They are noted for their superior traveling speed and hit rate. Twin Blades are the proverbial "jack of all trades, master of none" due to the fact that while they have decent attack stat growths and have decent magical stats, they are unable to equip the strongest armors, have lower attack growths than the other classes, and do not have access to stronger magic skills. Their greatest strength lies with their multi-hit skills. Each skill has several elemental versions, and as a result are capable of dealing massive damage to enemies weak against those elements. In The World R:2, Twin Blades are extremely versatile, with more weapon types and subtypes than any other class. Their attacks are somewhat weak, but quick and easy to combo. Twin Blades have high agility and attack with two short swords. Their rapid attacks leave no opening for an opponent to counterattack. There are three basic types of Twin Blade attacks: Staccato (deals over 15 hits to a single target), Tiger Claws (deals over 5 hits to targets within the player's vicinity), and Saber Dance (deals 4 strong hits to a single enemy). Although the non-elemental versions of these attacks don't do quite as much damage as one would hope, the elemental versions can deal ridiculous damage to monsters with the opposite element. Unfortunately, none of these attacks have versions dealing Earth or Water damage.n The World R:2, unlike in the predecessor, skills are inherent to a class, not to a weapon. As a player raises his or her job level, he or she will gain access to new abilities.Tokyopop has translated the Twin Blade class (in order) as Twin Sword, Double Blade, Twin User, and Double Knife-Fighter.

  • Twin Blades have also had inconsistent English names in the Japanese version, including Twin User, Twin Blade, and Twin Sword.

Wavemasters- are the mage class of The World. Although they are physically the weakest class, being capable of equipping only the lightest armor, they have outstanding magical stats and can equip rods capable of using the most powerful spells. In Legend of the Twilight, Reki and Magi use tomes in place of rods, but it is unknown whether these are an administrator feature or a new weapon for the whole class.
Wavemasters are considered a party staple due to their high SP rating, and are among the most popular classes. Possibly because of how broken the class was, The World:R2 divides the former Wavemaster class into attack-based and healing-based classes.

In .hack//SIGN, Wavemasters had the innate ability to reveal hidden areas the way Fairy's Orbs normally do.
Unlike the other classes of The World, Wavemasters have no physical attack skills. To make up for this they are the only class who can cast level 4 summon magic, the most powerful spells in the game. Twin Blades are the only other class capable of casting level 4 summon magic, but only if the final Goblin set of equipment is equipped.

The World Expansion Packs

As The World released more expansion packs, more classes were introduced.

* Archer (Official name and status unknown)
* Knuckle Master (Tentative English name)
* Werewolf (Not a primary class - available only through the "Class Change" campaign)

Archer is the name given to an unnamed theoretical class in The World. Players carrying quivers and bows make an appearance in .hack//SIGN, apparently using the bow and arrow as a primary weapon, but the lack of archers in any other series seems to imply that this is a mistake. There is no class capable of archery in .hack//frägment, and Albireo, who has been playing since Fragment, makes no reference to an archer class. The Archers could be a product of hackers, or simply an oversight by the animators.

Knuckle Master- is a class within The World that specializes in unarmed, hand-to-hand combat, equipping gloves and knuckles as weapons. Though they are not present in SIGN or the Games, the class was added to the game sometime during the 4-year gap between the Twilight Incident and Legend of the Twilight. The only known player of this class was Ouka, an elite player whose fighting style has earned her the nickname "The Divine Fist". It is later replaced by the Tribal Grappler class in The World R:2. Knuckle Masters have no official English name, so on this site
  • "Knuckle Master", the translation given in a third-party-produced tabletop role-playing game found in .hack//The World, is used. They are also sometimes known as Fighters, Kick Boxers, or Brawlers.

Werewolves- are an elite class in The World; they were not present in SIGN or the Games, being added to the system sometime between the Twilight Incident and Legend of the Twilight. A hidden class only available through the "Class Change" system to Knuckle Masters who obtain a certain item, the Werewolf class allows its user to transform from their original class into a wolf form, and vice versa. The only known user of this class is Ouka.

Self Proclaimed Classes or Jobs

Some players that find monster fighting dull make up self proclaimed jobs to role-play in.

* Informant: PCs who sell information on how to conquer the game for money.
* Traders: PCs who broker items to be traded.
* Singers and Comedians: PCs who perform on street corners and in dungeons.
* Guard: PCs who voluntarily protect the justice of The World.
* Rare Hunter: A collector who seeks anything that is rare or famous.

The World R:2 Classes

In the year 2015, a fire destroyed most of The World's data, and the remains had to be spliced together with another game CC Corp was working on to create The World R:2. This new game has mostly different classes from The World, often now called Jobs.

* Adept Rogue
* Blade Brandier
* Macabre Dancer
* Edge Punisher
* Flick Reaper
* Harvest Cleric
* Lord Partizan
* Shadow Warlock
* Steam Gunner
* Tribal Grappler
* Twin Blade

PostSubject: Re: Character Classes   Character Classes Icon_minitimeTue Nov 18, 2008 3:17 pm

Adept Rogue- is a class in The World R:2. Unlike other classes, its users do not specialize in a single weapon, or form of combat. Instead of practicing in the use of a particular type of weapon, an Adept Rogue acquires several forms through Job Extend, each of which allows him or her to use a different weapon type. ( For more information see Post Reguarding Adept Rogue https://theworldr2.aforumfree.com/suggestions-f7/the-rogue-class-t21.htm )
  • Adept Rogues were called Multi-Weapons in the Japanese version of .hack. The reason for the name change is unknown.

Blade Brandiers- fight with a sword similar to a katana. It is said that all warrior classes derive from this class. Although their abilities are average, they can adapt to a wide variety of situations." Blade Brandier is a class in The World R:2. They are very similar to the Blademaster class from R:1. A Blade Brandier's damage and hit rate are somewhere in between Twin Blade and Edge Punisher, making it an average class in terms of strength. In regards to speed, the Blade Brandier is not as fast as a Twin Blade or Tribal Grappler, however, they are much faster than heavily armored classes, such as Lord Partizan.

Weapons
Blade Brandier's wield medium-sized, one-handed, or katana-like swords in battle.
Blades.

* Blade Brandier was simply called Blade in the Japanese version.
* Blade Brandier weapons can range in size from a small dagger (as Ender is seen using in Roots), to a full-sized katana.

Macabre Dancers- are experts at status and ability magic. Since they are allied with both the light and dark spirits, they are proficient in healing and attack magic. They hold large fans in both hands during battle. Their dancing form is said to enchant those who watch. " Macabre Dancer (妖扇士) is a class in The World R:2. A strange class, they wield fan-like weapons. They cut their enemies with the bladed tips of their fans in a battle form that resembles a dance. The inhabitants of The World consider them the "Flowers of the Battlefield".
Macabre Dancersare the expert class for status effects and parameter changes, and are very balanced casters, learning both healing and attack spells. Like Harvest Clerics and Shadow Warlocks, Macabre Dancers gain spells incredibly quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts.

Weapons
Fans
  • Macabre Dancers-were called Dance Macabres in the Japanese version of .hack. The reason for the name change is unknown. They were also briefly called Spell Shamans in some Japanese materials.

Edge Punishers- are a job class that prefers to wield giant swords. A blow from one of these weapons has enormous power. It can slice most enemies in half with a single strike. Edge Punisher is a class in The World R:2. Similar to the Heavy Blades from R:1, Edge Punishers use huge, double-handed Broadswords. Edge Punishers excel in physical attacking, especially against armored foes; however, they are much slower than classes such as the Blade Brandier. Edge Punishers also have higher defense from the heavy armors they can equip.

Weapons

  • Broadswords.The Edge Punisher class was originally called Brandish in the Japanese version. The kanji, however, means something more like "Impact Swordsman"

The Flick Reaper- specializes in attacks meant to keep multiple enemies away. However, they are ineffective at long range." Flick Reaper (鎌闘士) is a class in The World R:2 that wields giant scythes. Similar to the Heavy Axemen from The World, Flick Reapers use large weapons such as Axes and Scythes to attack with. Flick Reapers are very weak to long range attacks. They're the medium range, "area attack" class. They "flick" multiple enemies and push them away before they can get close enough for melee attacks, but a good Steam Gunner or Lord Partizan could overpower them by attacking from afar.
Weapons
Scythes.
  • Flick Reapers were called Flickers in the Japanese version of .hack. The reason for the name change is unknown, the addition of "Reaper" probably stems from the fact that scythes are used to reap.

Harvest Clerics-
are experts in healing magic and are allied with the light spirits. They wield a staff in battle in the name of Eir, the Goddess of Tranquility. They can use some attack magic after they reach a certain level, but most concentrate on healing and support magicHarvest Cleric (呪療士) is a class in The World R:2. They are sometimes called "Clerics" for short. Both Harvest Clerics and Shadow Warlocks are considered spinoffs of The World's Wavemaster class. Their favored weapons are staves, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, being considerably physicially stronger by level than grimoires but weaker than any other type of weapon. In exchange, Harvest Cleric staves give a much lower magic bonus than Shadow Warlock grimoires, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Hold and Release", "Rapid Attacks") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Shadow Warlocks, Harvest Clerics learn spells incredibly fast, at a rate of almost 1 per job level, but learn no arts.

Weapons
Staves
  • Harvest Clerics were called simply Harvests in the Japanese version of the series.

  • Harvest Cleric is the official class of the Medic Union guild.

Lord Partizans- wield a giant lance. No other class can match its piercing power. They have high defensive power compared to other classes, but are weaker against magicLord Partizan is a class in The World R:2. They are similar to the Long Arms from R:1Lord Partizans have good medium range attacks, but don't excel at "sweeping" attacks like Flick Reapers. Their defense and physical attack stats are very high, with magical attack being their only real weakness. They're also more monster-oriented, with a lot of good armor-piercing and anti-air weapons and skills. Their skill progression for low levels is also among the lowest. Overall, this class can cause the most immediate damage.

Weapons
Lances.
  • Lord Partizans were just called Partizans in the Japanese version of .hack. The reason for the name change is unknown.

Shadow Warlocks- are experts in attack magic and are allied with the dark spirits. They always carry a book of spells known as a Grimoire to heighten their magic power. Although they can use some healing magic, their repertoire is limited and not very efficient."Shadow Warlock (魔導士) is a class within The World R:2. Both Shadow Warlocks and Harvest Clerics are considered spinoffs of The World's Wavemaster class. Their favored weapons are Grimoires, which give bonuses to their magic and elemental stats, and can be used in melee combat, although with very little effect. Shadow Warlock tomes give a much higher magic bonus and have a much lower physical attack than Harvest Cleric staves, though the elemental bonuses are around the same. Like bayonets, neither staves nor grimoires have special types (i.e. "Rapid Attacks", "Hold and Release") for melee combat. Like Macabre Dancers and Harvest Clerics, Shadow Warlocks gain spells very quickly, at a rate of almost one per job level, but learn no arts.

Weapons
Grimoires
  • The name in the original Japanese version of the game was simply Warlock, with no "Shadow" preceding it. The Japanese name "Madoushi", simply means "Sage" or "Mage"

Steam Gunner-They specialize in long-range attack and are weak against close encounters, but if necessary their guns can be used as powerful melee weapons which keep most enemies away." Steam Gunner is a class in The World R:2. Steam Gunners use steam-powered bayonets developed by humans to attack. Steam Gunners are the physical equivalent of Shadow Warlocks. Their shots are skills that operate the exact same way spells do, but deal physical damage instead. Steam Gunners' shots have greater range than any other physical hit, and their physical attack stat has the fastest progression of any class (as of Rebirth). In exchange, their melee hits take the same penalty as those of the other "caster" classes in R:2 in that they lack any of the special types (i.e. "rapid attacks") that most classes have access to.

Weapons
Bayonets,guns

  • Despite being the only class not renamed for the English release, the kanji for Steam Gunner meant something along the lines of "Gunman", not mentioning steam at all.

Tribal Grapplers- use their own fists as weapons. They have high agility similar to Twin Blades and possess high HP. However, their low defense value makes it crucial to pay attention in battle. Tribal Grappler is a class in The World R:2. They are similar to the Knuckle Masters from R:1, using Gauntlets as their weapons.This class has the advantage of a very high attack speed, allowing it to achieve normal Rengeki extremely fast, in addition to very high HP. Their defense, however, is very low. They also have a very limited repertoire of arts, having only 2 skills available as of Rebirth.

Weapons
Tribal Grapplers wield light gauntlet type weapons. These can range from lightweight gloves, to oversized, paw-like gauntlets. Gauntlets.

  • Tribal Grapplers were simply called "Grapplers" in the Japanese version; the reason for the change is unknown.

Twin Blade_ is a class in The World and The World R:2 which wields dual blades. It is the only class "carried over" between revisions.
The World
Twin Blades are the most balanced class in The World.
The World R:2
In The World R:2 Twin Blades are extremely versatile, with more weapon types and subtypes than any other class. Their attacks are somewhat weak, but quick and easy to combo. Twin Blades have high agility and attack with two short swords. Their rapid attacks leave no opening for an opponent to counterattack.

Weapons
Dual Swords.
  • Tokyopop has translated the Twin Blade class (in order) as Twin Sword, Double Blade, Twin User, and Double Knife-Fighter. Twin Blades have also had inconsistent English names in the Japanese version, including Twin User, Twin Blade, and Twin Sword.

Undefined Classes

Dual Gunner (Tentative English name)
Dual Gunner- is an undefined class in The World R:2. It is only known to exist as an element of Haseo's Xth Form.

Appearance
After the activation of the Rebirth ability, Haseo's PC data and his connection to his Epitaph was badly damaged. Zelkova manages to rescue Haseo and rewrite his PC Data, essentially hacking his character to reconnect Haseo's ties with Skeith.

As a Dual Gunner, user can shoot from nearly any distance on the battlefield, although the closer he is to the target, the more damage he deals. Instead of a combo, shots are fired two per attack until the guns' ammunition is depleted. After all ammunition has been expended, the weapons are automatically reloaded, which takes only a short moment, but you can also manually reload any time. The Build-Up Attack is an area attack that targets and hits all enemies three times with damage that is also dependent on range from the target, reloading the guns in the process. After any skill from the Skill Trigger is performed, user can use Double Trigger. This activates a weapon change to the Dual Guns to perform the skill Judgment, which costs no additional SP. user can slide along the ground while shooting with the dual guns, allowing him to attack and move at the same time.

The Dual Gunner can easily attack from afar, and quickly racks up hits, in turn leading to much quicker attacks. It also easily knocks smaller enemies into the air, putting them in a lock which is impossible for single targets to escape. The one downfall of the Dual Gunner is that even though you can attack from anywhere, you still deal the most amount of damage when at point-blank range.

Weapons
Dual Guns.
  • In Hack Haseo briefly appears in his Dual Gunner form during episode 26 of .hack//Roots, along with a shadowed version of Skeith's first form towering behind him as he looks out at the Arche Koeln Waterfall.

  • While every Dual Gun has an effect called Double Trigger, this effect actually has something to do with the juggling aspect of the Dual Guns, hence why juggling is harder when Haseo has a low level in comparison to small enemies or other PC's. The Double Trigger ability is an inherent part of Xth Form despite the deception.

  • Judgment is the only Additional-type Skill in .hack//G.U.. Additional is in reference to the fact that it can only be used through the Double Trigger, "adding" the Art onto the previous attack.

  • While there is no official English name for this class, the guns Haseo uses are titled with a DG at the beginning, making "Dual Gunner" a likely translation for the official Japanese name (双銃士).
